"Tell Dad looks every inch a Royal Ascot prospect and can book his ticket this afternoon.."

Three tips for Newmarket on 1,000 Guineas day.

Eleanora Duse (14.35) can give Sir Michael Stoute a fifth consecutive win in the Group 2 Dahlia Stakes. After finding just subsequent King Edward and Dubai Carnival winner Monterosso too good on her reappearance in 2010 Eleanora Duse went on to have a fine year, winning a listed race at Newbury and the Group 2 Blandford Stakes at the Curragh. On the face of it, nine furlongs may seem on the short side for Eleanora Duse now, but it seems significant that she's reappearing in a race Sir Michael Stoute clearly targets, and the yard have made a solid-enough start with four winners in the last fortnight.

Any odds against about Tell Dad (16.25) in the maiden should be snapped up. He looked a fine prospect and unlucky not to make a successful debut when beaten a head by previous winner Jack Who's He in a minor event over course and distance last month. Having lost several lengths at the start, Tell Dad quickly made up ground and it was only greenness that prevented him from winning as Jack Who's He rallied to shade it by a head. Tell Dad looks every inch a Royal Ascot prospect and can book his ticket this afternoon.

Izzi Top (17.00) could be Oaks-bound and she's fancied to take today's Pretty Polly. A huge eye-catcher on her debut at Doncaster in October, Izzi Top made the perfect return at Windsor, as, despite pulling hard early, she was clear at the line with a bit to spare from the promising Lunar Phase and Crystal Etoile. The step up to a mile and a quarter today will be ideal for Izzi Top and she'll be leaving behind her current rating of 87.
