Three horses to keep on side during the final day of this year's Glorious Goodwood...

Midday (3.05) can confirm her place amongst the best female horses in the world with victory in the Group 1 Nassau Stakes. A very smart filly, she had some excellent results last season including winning this very race, as well as landing the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf. Only the extremely impressive Sariska denied her victory on her reappearance at York this year, and without Sariska to worry about on this occasion the race looks ideal for her to put down a bold bid to win the race two years on the spin.

Despite being quiet since winning at York on his seasonal debut, Johannes (3.40) looks poised for a big run in the prestigious Stewards' Cup. He showed terrific form last year, winning four times, and showing that he acts at Goodwood when victorious in the ultra competitive Stewards' Sprint Cup over the same six furlongs that he faces today. In a race where the strongest pace will likely dictate the outcome, it is encouraging to see him drawn on the stand side, where, on paper, most of the front-runners are coming from.

It would be no surprise to see the meeting end with Truism (5.25) managing to get the better of his rivals in this very competitive handicap event. He has had each of his previous three starts at Goodwood as is well suited to the track as evidenced by a creditable third place to Start Right on Tuesday over a mile. He steps up to nine furlongs here, a trip which looks ideal.
