"With his main challenger Laharna better over shorter, Quatre Huit ticks quite a few boxes in a winnable contest"

Plenty to go at on Bank Holiday Monday with no less than seven meetings scheduled. The Free Form Service has picked out three of the better bets of the day.

King Edmund (4.15) goes well at Plumpton and can successfully give weight all-round in the novice chase. He's left his hurdles form behind since going chasing, winning two of his three completed starts, and turned over the classy First Point in a similar race at Ludlow recently. With I Have Dreamed not the most fluent of jumpers, King Edmund looks the one to be with in what is essentially a match with his Gary Moore-trained rival.

Quatre Huit (4.25) shaped better than the result on debut for Tim Vaughan at Sedgefield last month, and may be worth chancing in a contest in which you can pick holes in nearly every rival. The six-year-old was a winner in his native France in 2008-09, and travelled extremely well before tiring late on British debut. Likely to be straighter here, he appeals as a type who is ahead of the handicapper, and with his main challenger Laharna better over shorter, Quatre Huit ticks quite a few boxes in a winnable contest.

Back at Plumpton, it may be worth chancing the potentially well treated Whistle Blowing (5.25) on his first start for the Sarah Humphrey stable. Whilst Whistle Blowing has yet to taste success, he shaped a good deal better than the result in a hunter at Sandown last month for Matthew Smith, and a change of yards may be the catalyst for a horse who has been placed twice in the past off higher marks.

Recommendations
