"Millers Dawn has definite scope in handicaps off his current mark given the useful level he ran to in bumpers"
Another three from the Free Form Service for Thursday
Charlie Smirke (5.10) has looked a reformed character of late on the all-weather, his improved attitude resulting in two wins over a mile at Lngfield this year. Whilst it's hard to get excited about his previous form on turf, Charlie Smirke has a lower handicap mark to potentially exploit, and with the step up in trip no bother, he looks a good bet.
The presence of the returning Roodolph complicates matters in the maiden hurdle at Hereford (4.20) but a safer proposition looks to be Blue Spartan. He ran to a fairly useful level on the Flat for Brian Meehan, and has improved with each start over hurdles, only finding one too good last time. Capable of better still, Blue Spartan rates the likeliest winner, though market support for Roodolph would temper enthusiasm slightly.
Later on at Huntingdon , (7.10) Millers Dawn looks a likely improver now upped in trip, and can prove too strong for last-time-out winner Alfloramoor and handicap debutante Yonder. Millers Dawn has definite scope in handicaps off his current mark given the useful level he ran to in bumpers, and he hinted at a revival in cheekpieces at Exeter a fortnight ago. This doesn't look the strongest of races by any means, and any price around 4.0 is probably worth taking.
