Timeform's Jimmy Cooper has picked out three from Tuesday's card at Nottingham.

The five-furlong handicap at 6.05 looks a run-of-the-mill contest, but in truth only a handful can realistically be fancied. None more so than Thoughtsofstardom, especially back over his optimum trip. The selection is operating from a very workable turf mark compared to the all-weather, and his effort at Folkestone recently was very much a step in the right direction. Thoughsofstardom showed plenty of speed when only finding one too good on that occasion over six-furlongs, and he looks the one to be with.

An hour later sees the return of the Luca Cumani-trained Cygnet, and he rates a confident selection to make up for lost time on his belated return. Cygnet has been restricted to just three racecourse starts, and having won a maiden here, Cygnet shaped really well second on sole outing at three. Having been gelded since, he looks the type his excellent trainer excels with, and it will be no surprise if Cygnet is contesting much better quality handicaps in the near future. Sirgarfieldsobers is a live threat having shaped well on return recently, but he lacks the scope of Cygnet.

The concluding race on the Nottingham card (8.05) looks a really good opportunity for Oriental Scot to get off the mark. The three-year-old shaped really well first two juvenile starts, and it's probably best to forgive his final effort when tried on fibresand. Oriental Scot appeals as the type to make up into a better three-year-old, and with more to come, he rates a solid wager to see off this lot.
