Title-chasing jockey Frankie Dettori looks set to be among the winners at Wolverhampton
"Call To Arms was impressive when winning over a mile at Lingfield on his return, and showed enough dash to think the return to sprinting won’t inconvenience him.."
Three selections for Monday from the Timeform Free Form Website
Eyebrows were raised when Frankie Dettori announced a tilt at the 2010 Flat jockeys' title, but the great rider has been in superb form and currently sits fourth behind Paul Hanagan, Ryan Moore and Kieren Fallon in the jockeys' championship. His decision to ride Sheikh Mohammed's horses trained by Mark Johnston in the early stages of the season has proved pivotal, and he could be set for another winner in the familiar green colours on Call To Arms (3.00) at Wolverhampton. Call To Arms was impressive when winning over a mile at Lingfield on his return, and showed enough dash to think the return to sprinting won't inconvenience him.
Nimue (3.10) can get off the mark in the handicap for three-year-olds up at Newcastle. A lightly-raced filly for Paul Cole, Nimue had a couple of good prospects in Eldalil and Dance East in front of her when making a promising reappearance at Newmarket recently, finishing best of all. The booking of Jamie Spencer again looks significant for her handicap debut and she can make a successful start.
Impact Zone (3.50) looks the safest call in the three mile handicap chase at Towcester. The field is full of rogues and poor jumpers, but Mick Easterby's charge isn't as exposed as the majority, and was the subject of a gamble which went astray at Chepstow on Friday, that itself significant. Off a 3 lb lower mark he can make amends.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Back to win:
Wolverhampton 3.00 Call To Arms
Newcastle 3.10 Nimue
Towcester 3.50 Impact Zone
