Bangor is the scene of Wednesday's Race of the Day.
"Incentivise might have more to come for Richard Lee this season and can make a winning reappearance in a race that isn't perhaps as competitive as a first glance might suggest..."
Timeform preview an intriguing handicap chase at Bangor on Wednesday......
Dance Island took very well to fences in 2009/10, ending with a second in Grade 2 at Aintree. Generally struggled last time round though and handicapper proving slow to relent. Visor tried on return.
Nicto de Beauchene was much improved last season, placed in strong Newbury handicap before winning soft-ground contest at Sandown by wide margin. Excuses after and still on a fair mark ahead of return tried blinkered.
Galant Nuit had a good season in 2009/10, winning staying event at Cheltenham and then third at the Festival. Pulled up both runs last season though and something to prove on reappearance.
Far More Serious is a useful chaser who won over C&D last term before a solid effort at Newbury. More encouragement this season at Aintree last time (lit up by blinkers) and better could be forthcoming here.
Buffalo Bob was a winner at Newbury following a good second in this corresponding race off 6 lb lower mark early last season. Form dipped after, and has finished weakly and looks held by handicapper on return.
Air Force One was runner-up to Madison du Berlais in 2008 Hennessy at Newbury. Lost his way since, his jumping often going to pot, and no sign of retaining ability on belated Ascot return last month.
Cool Mission can race lazily, but did better once fitted with cheekpieces in second half of 2010/11, including win in 25f maiden at Ayr. Not at best on reappearance but down in weights and new headgear tried.
Pyracantha left Alan Swinbank after getting it right at the third attempt over fences in April. Out of the doldrums when scoring here in September but unable to match that back in a handicap last time.
Incentivise progressed well last season, winning 2 staying handicap chases and running well twice after in the mud at Warwick. Not been with shrewd yard long and may do better still this term.
Satou would have claims on the pick of his French form, but hasn't done enough in 2 runs in Britain (both over hurdles) to think he was ready to strike off this mark.
Mohi Rahrere's jumping deteriorated after making winning start in this sphere 13 months ago. Back on track over hurdles when going in at Uttoxeter (3m) in May, but moody display when last seen 6 weeks later.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Incentivise
2. Cool Mission
3. Nicto de Beauchene
Timeform View: Incentivise might have more to come for Richard Lee this season and can make a winning reappearance in a race that isn't perhaps as competitive as a first glance might suggest. Cool Mission and Nicto de Beauchene are other possibles.
