"Sound Accord... bounced back to form at Huntingdon earlier this month and remains well treated on past exploits."

Timeform look at the field for a competitive handicap chase at Carlisle...

Fabalu bounced back to form in first-time blinkers when winning at Bangor last time, jumping boldly in front. May not be allowed the same freedom to dominate here, but still respected if in same form.

Zitenka is tricky sort who showed he is still capable of fairly useful form when winning at Kelso when last seen in April. However, he may need this after an 11-month absence and is now 9 lb higher.

Lockstown recorded back-to-back wins in November and improved further when second in Borders National at Kelso following month, but comes here on the back of 2 poor efforts and others make more appeal.

Do It For Dalkey was transformed by breathing operation to win 2 handicaps here earlier this term and made further progress when runner-up at Sandown since. Ran poorly last time but big player here if bouncing back.

Bold Ransom cashed in on drop in weights to nab 3½m handicap chase at Haydock in December. Efforts since temper enthusiasm and showed nothing behind Fabalu at Bangor last time. Something to prove now.

Etxalar has been largely let down by jumping since chasing home an in-form rival here (3¼m) in November. However, ran well over an inadequate trip at Newcastle last time and chance if jumping holds up.

Rigadin de Beauchene is a much better chaser than hurdler, scoring at Hereford in December. Not disgraced over this trip at Fontwell last time, but stamina seemingly stretched closing stages and others preferred.

Vamizi's sole career win came nearly 2 years ago, but shown himself to be a fairly useful handicap chaser since. Back to form when second here last time and suited by testing conditions.

Sound Accord gained first win for 2 years in handicap at Huntingdon earlier this month on first chase start for Brian Ellison. Remains well treated on old form and major player if reproducing that effort here.

Storymaker is undoubtedly well treated on pick of last season's exploits, but looked like a horse with problems this term and best left alone until showing more positive signs.

Timeform 1-2-3
1. Sound Accord
2. Do It For Dalkey
3. Fabalu

Timeform View: An interesting contest in which Do It For Dalkey will pose a serious threat to all if recapturing his early-season form. However, given his below-par effort last time, marginal preference is for Sound Accord who bounced back to form at Huntingdon earlier this month and remains well treated on past exploits. Fabalu is likely to prove best of the rest.
