"Blu Teen has a good win-to-run record and can follow up last month's success in the Grand Military Gold Cup having rejoined Paul Nicholls."

Timeform run the rule over this veterans' chase...

Alderburn went winless for 3½ years until nabbing a similar event at Aintree on his return. He nearly stole the race from the front under a cracking ride at Newbury last time and will be dangerous again allowed a soft lead.

Laskari was as good as ever when winning a 2½m veterans handicap at Huntingdon in November 2009. However, he has been seen only four times since and was pulled up behind Alderburn at Aintree in October.

Wogan won two staying handicap chases from just four starts last season. He has not been in the same heart either start this time around and was markedly below form in one of these at Doncaster in February.

Blu Teen won the Grand Military Gold Cup at Sandown last month for David Staddon and has since rejoined Paul Nicholls. He has every chance of following up off what looks a good mark (only second-ever run in a handicap).

Magic Sky is a hold-up performer who has rather lost his way since finishing fourth in the Grand Sefton at Aintree in November. Cheekpieces are now tried in an attempt to get him back on track.

Ma Yahab is an enigmatic sort who is on a lengthy losing run. He finished in the frame three times (closely matched with Alderburn on last of them) prior to his last run when well out of weights and taking no interest.

Appleaday has gone over two years without a win but has come down in the weights as a result. He ran creditably at Sandown last time for all he had no chance with the easy winner Mon Parrain.

Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Blu Teen
2. Alderburn
3. Ma Yahab

Timeform View: Blu Teen has a good win-to-run record and can follow up last month's success in the Grand Military Gold Cup having rejoined Paul Nicholls. Alderburn may well prove the main threat.
