"Compton won with a bit to spare on last month's course-and-distance debut and can maintain his unbeaten record."

Timeform run the rule over this minor event for two-year-olds...

Bling King got off the mark at Brighton in May and left that form well behind when landing a six-furlong nursery at Chester last time. A repeat of that won't see him too far away with Dettori in the saddle.

Compton is the first foal of a winning half-sister to these connections' Oaks winner Look Here. He made an excellent start when easily winning a course-and-distance maiden last month and looks the one they all have to beat.

Mehdi was placed on his first three starts and made no mistake when landing the odds in a six-furlong maiden at Ripon a week ago. He has more on here, but is an imposing colt who should continue to progress.

North Star Boy knuckled down well to get off the mark over five furlongs at Ascot in May. He has been far from discredited in the face of stiffer tasks since, but looks consistent rather than progressive at this stage.

Sixx won a small-field maiden at Salisbury in May and was seemingly much improved when second of five in a minor event at Ascot last time. Richard Hughes prefers North Star Boy this time.

Gung Ho Jack was much improved from his debut when coming out on top in a bunch finished at Newmarket last time. He is quickly going the right way, but a fair bit more will be needed if he's to follow up here.

Rebellious Guest made a promising debut when winning a 15-runner course-and-distance maiden by three lengths. He found Group 2 company too hot at Royal Ascot last time, but still has potential to do better.

Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Compton
2. Rebellious Guest
3. Bling King

Timeform View: Compton won with a bit to spare on last month's course-and-distance debut and can maintain his unbeaten record. Rebellious Guest was also impressive here on his debut and is worth another chance having understandably found the Coventry too much at this early stage of his career last time.
