Sir Michael Stoute: Has leading claims with Entitled
"Several of these could well end up better than handicappers and this looks a strong race for the grade."
This fillies handicap looks highly competitive. Timeform run the rule over the field...
Favourite Girl improved for the fitting of a visor last term, gaining four handicap wins over five and six furlongs. She has been struggling to hit those heights this time round and is still above her last winning mark tried in different headgear.
Amitola has developed well in relatively few runs, still having room for more improvement. She was never able to land a blow on last month's reappearance and this will be a better race to judge her on.
Sioux Rising is consistent on the whole despite a long losing run, but there's a suspicion she's not entirely straightforward and the handicapper isn't doing her any favours in any case.
Entitled is a lightly-raced filly who took well to sprinting when staying on strongly to catch the thriving Collect Art in a big-field handicap over six furlongs at York earlier in the month. An 8 lb rise is probably not enough to stop her.
Desert Poppy carries her head awkwardly but that didn't stop her winning twice last season. She was right back to her best when runner-up at Goodwood last time and has an obvious chance off the same mark, though her wide draw is a clear negative.
Pepper Lane is tactically versatile and was quick off the blocks when making all on last month's reappearance at Ripon. She possibly found the race coming too soon back there last time, but the assessor may now have the upper hand.
Breedj showed promise on both her runs early last year and improved for her comeback when eighth to Rimth in the Fred Darling. She got a stiff mark as a result and has made no impact in two handicaps since.
Who's Shirl was most progressive in six-furlong handicaps in 2010, the year culminating with success over course and distance in September. She has found the going tougher this year off her revised mark, but the drying ground is at least in her favour.
Ishiadancer is a front runner who seemed to excel herself when fourth in a six-furlong listed event at Nottingham in May 2010. All other evidence suggests she was flattered, but she does have a decent record fresh.
Mosaicist is bred to be useful and is very much going the right way, following her reappearance win in a Yarmouth maiden with a smooth success in handicap company at Kempton earlier this month. She is very much open to further progress.
Mango Music was rejuvenated by switching to Richard Fahey, winning twice in 2010. She has been working her way back to top form this time round and this mark needn't be beyond her.
Blanche Dubawi won a Redcar maiden in 2010 and has matched that form when placed in six- and seven-furlong handicaps this term. This will be just her fifth start and she could easily have more to offer.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Entitled
2. Mosaicist
3. Blanche Dubawi
Timeform View: Several of these could well end up better than handicappers and this looks a strong race for the grade. Entitled has a wide draw to contend with but created a striking impression at York last time and can overcome it. The biggest threats appear to be Mosaicist and Blanche Dubawi.
