Take It To The Max has his second start for Richard Fahey.
"Take It To The Max lost his way for George Moore but combination of reduced mark and switch to Richard Fahey saw him regain the winning thread on recent 1m Hamilton return."
The Carlisle Bell Trial handicap looks competitive and is Timeform's Race of the Day...
Tax Break is a lightly-raced gelding who confirmed debut promise (for Mark Johnston) when beating Crown Counsel and McBirney (both won twice since) in 7f Wolverhampton maiden in February. More to come.
Marjury Daw was tough and progressive in 2010, winnning 5 times (at 1m/1¼m). No impact either start this term, however, and easy to overlook for the time being.
Miami Gator is a front runner who won 4 times at around 1m last summer, 2 of them over C&D. Below form last twice in claimers (taken on up front), but versatile regards ground and dangerous if handed a soft lead.
Ailsa Craig proved a revelation for new yard last summer, winning 3 times, 2 of of them over C&D. Another who is versatile regards ground, and bound to be sharper for comeback outing earlier in the month.
Take It To The Max lost his way for George Moore but combination of reduced mark and switch to Richard Fahey saw him regain the winning thread on recent 1m Hamilton return. Remains fairly treated.
Khandaq was back to form on first start for Keith Dalgleish when scoring at Wolverhampton last month. Fair fourth at Catterick since despite race not run to suit, but yet to prove he handles give in the ground.
Shadowtime's 4 career wins have been gained at Beverley, including 3 times in 2010. However new connections struggling to get him fired up, below form all 3 starts this time round.
Pour Moi was multiple winner in 2009. Drew a blank last year, but down in weights as a result and not discredited when fourth in C&D claimer on recent return. Should be sharper for that.
Toto Skyllachy won 7f handicap off this mark at Doncaster for Jimmy O'Reilly in June 2010. Lost way after but change of scenery could have done him some good and capable of figuring if ready to go after break.
Oh So Saucy can be lazy but wound up 2010 with a win at Newbury over this trip. Laboured effort when below form on reappearance in April but at least likely to strip fitter now.
Ours is not straightforward (can get long way behind), but capable on his day, winning claimer at Southwell in January and ¾-length second to Mont Ras (pair clear) in 1m Pontefract handicap on Friday.
Legal Legacy landed a Thirsk handicap in September, and not disgraced on seasonal bow when keeping-on seventh after missing the break at Catterick. Harder to forgive lesser efforts last twice, however.
Fibs And Flannel scored twice around 1m during 2010 and back on track of late, finishing strongly when fourth to Dazeen at Haydock last time. No reason he won't give his running again.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Take It To The Max
2. Tax Break
3. Miami Gator
Timeform View: Take It To The Max got back on track at the first time of asking for Richard Fahey earlier in the month and a 5 lb rise may not stop him going in again. Tax Break's Wolverhampton maiden has worked out really well and he's feared now handicapping for the first time, while front-runner Miami Gator's course record entitles him to respect.
