Will Alan Swinbank be cheering home another winner?
"William Haigh is a most interesting runner and, with his stable back in cracking form, is taken to remain unbeaten."
The nine-furlong handicap at Ayr looks a competitive affair, but Timeform believe Alan Swinbank can continue his recent good form...
High Resolution completed a Hamilton hat-trick last summer and produced a career-best effort when runner-up there in May. Better than bare result (inadequate test) last twice and return to further here will suit.
The Galloping Shoe is as good as ever this year, and was a respectable fourth for new yard in a first-time visor in 13f handicap here in June. Headgear left off when bombing twice since, but at least now back on last winning mark.
Khandaq was back to his best on first start for his up-and-coming trainer when scoring at Wolverhampton in April. He's been below form on his last 2 outings but return to firmer ground looks in his favour.
Music Festival is a strong traveller who is usually held up. He won on his return at Doncaster in April and has been placed twice since, a neck second to Frequency here (7f) penultimate start. Stamina must be taken on trust, however.
William Haigh is a half-brother to Irish 9f/1¼m winner Park Ranger. He made a good start to his career when winning a 1m maiden at Southwell in May and his yard back on song ahead of this switch to turf. Much respected.
Royal Straight is a quirky sort who won twice up to 1¼m for Richard Fahey in 2010. He's working his way back to form and well handicapped again, his latest run (met trouble) easily excused.
All For You won a handicap at Lingfield (7f, turf) in 2009 off 1 lb higher mark for Marco Botti. Long absence didn't stop her going close here (1¼m) recently, and entitled to come on for that.
Mariners Lodge was third in a 7f maiden at Goodwood on debut in September but failed to progress, leaving Mahmood Al Zarooni since last run in April. Stamina to prove though no surprise if new yard finds key to him.
Petsas Pleasure has turned in solid placed efforts both starts since winning at Redcar (9f) in May, sticking to task when third off this mark last time. Looks vulnerable to less-exposed types here, though.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. William Haigh
2. All For You
3. High Resolution
Timeform View: Southwell maiden winner William Haigh is a most interesting runner and, with his stable back in cracking form, is taken to remain unbeaten. All For You shrugged off a long absence to go close here recently and should be in the mix, with High Resolution also respected returned to his optimum trip.
