A week of horseracing tips is rounded off with a trip to Fontwell...

Tullamore Dew is an interesting runner at Fontwell today in the novice hurdle at 2.10. Last time out over this course he ran very well when finishing second to the progressive Our Bomber Harris with a long way back to the third. Prior to that run he faced an impossible task at Sandown when he ran respectably behind Junior in a Grade 2 event. I think he has a little improvement left in him and should run well at a decent price. Currently he is trading at [8.6] on the exchange.

Osana could upset the odds-on favourite in what is an intriguing contest at Sandown today in the 2.05. This seven-year-old has some pretty smart form in the book notably when he took the scalp of Champion Hurdle winner Katchit just over a year ago. He likes to bowl along in front and could prove difficult to catch if he is allowed an easy lead. Currently he is trading at [3.4] on the exchange. With his running style he could trade a lot shorter in running to satisfy any back-to-lay clients.

Over at Wetherby in the 1.45 River Shanakill should bounce back to form after a disappointing run last time out when she was beaten at very short odds at Sedgefield.Prior to that run she thrashed a modest group but gave the impression there was more to come.

At Chepstow today in the opening race at 1.20, The Gossamor Yank looks interesting in this fair novice hurdle. This expensive point winner put up a decent effort on debut over this course when beating Any Currency. He looks the type to improve with racing and is well regarded at home. His previous course form on testing ground will suit him and should run very well today. At present he is trading at [3.0] on the exchange.

At Towcester today in the 3.30 Bella Haze is a mare of interest in this maiden hurdle Last time out she put up a gutsy display at Chepstow making all the running in a bumper in testing conditions.Today she makes her debut over hurdles and i think similar tactics will be employed today by her talented rider who claims a valuable 7lbs.At present she is trading at 3.65 on the exchange.

At Newcastle today in the 1.55 Whisky Magic should prove difficult to beat in this novice hurdle. Last time out at Market Rasen this expensive purchase put up a bold front running display to beat Oscar Honey easily. He gave me the impression that there was a lot more to come and it is reflected in his current price of [2.68] on the exchange. In addition he could trade a lot shorter after a couple of hurdles to satisfy any back-to-lay clients.

At Folkestone in the opening race at 1.50, Zarrafakt looks interesting in this fair novice hurdle. This gelding was very impressive on debut in a bumper when bolting up last November. On his hurdles debut in December he was sent off a very short priced favourite but he could only finish second to Covert Mission. I think that he should improve off that run and should go close in this race. Currently he is trading at [2.92] on the exchange.

At Kempton today in the 1.30, Ainama is a very interesting debutant for these high profile connections. On the flat this gelding finished last season with a victory at Chester and had a progressive profile. His main opponent today, Hebridian, was rated much higher than him on the flat but did not impress me on his hurdles debut. At present the selection is trading at [2.36] on the exchange.
