"Check out" Nick's daily selection for today - it's in action at Folkestone.

At Folkestone today in the 4.40 I will be backing Perception in this maiden. Roger Charlton appears to have found a good opportunity for this Hawk Wing filly to get off the mark. On debut she ran well to finish fourth in a tough race and her current price of [2.4] for this afternoon's outing appears reasonable.

At Sandown today The Cheka is a horse that is very interesting in this Group 3 event at 2.35. This colt by Xaar comes in to this race after a very impressive debut at Ascot in a fair maiden. He quickened like a very smart horse that day and clearly there is more to come from this progressive colt. At present he is trading at [3.7] on the exchange and I have backed him at this price.

Summers Target looks very interesting at Sandown today in the 3.55 - a fair maiden run over seven furlongs. This colt by the speedy Mr Greeley showed plenty of promise on debut when finishing second to Derbaas at Ascot with a huge gap back to the third horse. Summers Target holds a couple of Group 1 entries, so is clearly held in some regard and should go very close today.

Crafty Dealer should go close in the 5pm maiden at Great Leighs today.This gelding has been running as if he needs further and will enjoy the extra yardage today. He has some fair form in the book in the context of this race and I do not think this maiden will take a lot of winning.This stable is in fair form and and his current price of [3.3] looks appropriate.

At Ayr today in the first race at 2.10 Tartan Gunna is a very interesting runner in this maiden.This colt by Anabaa is very well related to some decent horses and could be forward enough to do himself justice on debut.There is plenty of speed in his pedigree and he could be the pick of the stables two runners.Close attention should be paid to the market as this horse could attract significant support on the exchange.

At Great Leighs today in the 3pm Serious Attitude is a very interesting runner in the decent race and could attract significant support. This Mtoto filly put up a very impressive performance on debut when winning a fair race very easily. Today she is raised in class but i feel that she is up to the task.

At Warwick today I will be backing the veteran Pawan in the 4.20 at Warwick in both markets. This eight year old has been in super form recently and has had success over this course in the past. As there are question marks surrounding a few of the runners in this race the selection could go close in this event at a decent price. At present this gelding is trading at [11.5] on the exchange.
