Nick's choices are in action at Wetherby and Sandown today - let's hope the "tide" comes in and that this Diamond is forever...

At Wetherby in the opening race at 11.40 Diamond Frontier has a decent chance to follow up his impressive win at Hexham in November. In that race he beat a fair field and I was left with the impression that he had more improvement in him and I'm confident he should defy his penalty today. At present he is trading at [2.14] on the exchange.

Over at Sandown in the 2.35 I will be backing Tidal Bay in this historic race to take the measure of Master MInded.This top class individual has both speed and stamina which will come in to play when the field meets the rising ground on the long uphill finish.On his seasonal reappearance, this horse showed his well-being with a very easy success.Currently he is trading at [4.1] on the exchange.

In the opening race at Sandown today at 12.50 Tuanku is an interesting runner in this race. Last time out at Cheltenham he faced a very stiff task against Simariun when finishing down the field and will certainly appreciate the class drop today.The likely odds on favourite Helium is not entirely straightforward and Tuanku is sure to run his race. At present he is trading at [3.2] on the exchange.

At Great Leighs tonight in the 8.20 Timeless Dream is a filly of interest in this maiden run on the Polytrack. She showed improved form from her Newmarket debut when finishing a very good second to Mythicism at Redcar in October, with the third horse a long way back. This filly has shown she has speed and her pilot could try to make the running tonight. Currently she is trading at [3.05] on the exchange.

At Plumpton today in the 1.05 the well related Olmeto Collonges is an interesting runner in this small race.Last time out at Cheltenham he ran as if he needed the run in a competitive handicap hurdle.Today he is back over fences and he should improve for that last run.He is bred to be a chaser and this does not look a strong race and should put up a bold show with a clear round.Currently he is trading at 4.7 on the exchange.

At Hereford today in the 3.10 Blistering should give the hot favourite plenty to think about in this Novice hurdle over two and a half miles. This gelding won two bumpers last season on various ground at Warwick and Hereford and is sure to have been very well prepared for his debut over hurdles today. Currently he is trading at [4.4] on the exchange and should give a good account of himself today.

At Folkestone today in the 1pm Portrait Royale should go well in this small race run over three miles and one furlong. This mare was unlucky last time out when she fell two fences from home when travelling well. With that recent run under her belt she will improve and should go close for her talented trainer and hopefully gain compensation. Currently she is trading at [3.0] on the exchange.
