Today's selection is clearly a good starter but where will he finish?

At Great Leighs in the 3.20 Fromthebeginning is an interesting runner in this maiden on the Polytrack. This Lomitas colt completely missed the start on debut at Lingfield but ran on in eye catching fashion to finish a closing sixth to December Draw in early December. He clearly has ability and his debut run gave me the impression that he would know more next time. Currently he is trading at [3.1] on the exchange which I have taken.

At Haydock today in the 12.50 Little Josh should be hard to beat in this "Fixed Brush" novice hurdle.Last time out he bolted up in a small race at Lingfield and clearly left the impression there was more to come. Today he faces a large field but should have to many guns for the opposition.

Over at Lingfield at 1.35 Banknote is an interesting runner in this decent race on the Polytrack. Last time out at Great Leighs he made most of the running only to be caught close home in a muddling event.I think this larger field will suit him today and he should go close.

At Ascot today in the 1.55 I will be taking a chance with Wendel in this decent novice hurdle. He has raced a couple of times at Plumpton and last time out he was visually very impressive when annihilating a modest field. Clearly this race represent a big step up in class but he clearly has a lot more to offer. He raced in France during his flat racing career and won a small race at Deauville last Winter on the Polytrack. Hopefully he will not take on Golan Way in the early stages and if this is the case then I think he will run well. Currently he is trading at [12.5] on the exchange.

Silver Spinner should go close in Exeter's opener, a novice hurdle over 2m3f off at 12.50. Last time out at Towcester she really showed a good attitude and battled on well to beat Wychwoods Legend in testing conditions. I think she has a little more to offer and her pilot claims a valuable 3 lbs which could be a factor if it is a slog to the line in this soft ground. Currently she is trading at [2.92] on the exchange.

At Lingfield today in the 1.35 Pezula Bay should have a decent chance in this maiden on the Polytrack. On debut this well bred colt by Oasis Dream created a favourable impression when finishing second to Laudatory at Kempton. He did not have the run of the race that evening when he met interference in running making his effort even more meritorious. At present he is trading at [2.74] on the exchange.

At Folkestone today in the opening race at 12.20 the consistent Latanier looks to have a decent chance to make all the running in this novice hurdle. Last time out at Leicester he annihilated the opposition winning by a huge distance and I think that there is a little improvement left in this gelding. The opposition today is not particularly strong and his current price of [2.86] is appropriate. If he establishes a clear lead early he will trade at much shorter odds to satisfy any back-to-lay clients.

At Plumpton today in the 1pm Moment Present is interesting in this novice hurdle over two miles. He has form in France on the level and he could be ready to do himself justice on his debut over hurdles. His form in France does compare favourably and he is sure to have been well schooled and will handle the underfoot conditions. At present he is trading at [3.7] on the exchange. There are concerns about the current favourite Love And Glory handling the heavy ground so I would advise monitoring the market.

   Nick
   I'm not sure what the purpose of these Daily Selections are each day. You put up a short priced favourite day after day and looking back on the results have only had one winner this month - and that was at 4-9. Can you please outline what your strategy is with this service as your selections pick themselves by definition of their price.Everyone has bad runs but by going on tipping at these prices even if you double your strike-rate this column just doesn't make any sense. Please can you give us your thoughts and advise on staking. Thanks JOHN.
