Will there be shades of the same connections' crack novice Peddlers Cross in the opener?
"Those looking to oppose him may point to flaws in his jumping, but Al Qeddaaf can probably afford to make a couple of mistakes in this less-exalted company and rates an obvious banker"
Kelso, famous for its pottery, Kelsae onions and, of course, picturesque racecourse, can now add the daily Placepot to its list of claims to fame, with extra pressure on the outcome given Timeform's newly-found association with the track.
5.50 - Those looking to oppose him may point to flaws in his jumping, but Al Qeddaaf can probably afford to make a couple of mistakes in this less-exalted company and rates an obvious banker; in fact, he should be more like [1.6] in the win market and is probably worth backing as well to fend off the half-hearted Saveiro.
6.20 - Phone In is the solid one based on his recent handicap win at a similar trip, while St Killian's Run should stay this far on pedigree and arrives on the back of a couple of sound efforts, too. Take both.
6.50 - The real prospect of Still At Lunch and Hazeldene taking each other on means those held up may well be at an advantage for a change around this sharp track. In that case, come-from-behind types Premier Dane, who's the type to benefit from headgear, and course-and-distance winner Bob's Dream make most appeal to hit the three.
7.20 - Ameeq's form claims are there for all to see, but he's not the type to string good performances together. Its Tough has looked back on track on his last two starts and many will leave him out because he's wrong at the weights, with the consistent Pontop the best option to accompany him under a change of rider.
7.55 - Question marks aplenty in leg five, though Minouchka did better for this jockey taking the mount last time and a similar performance should see her on the premises. Otherwise, Eyre Square and Ocarina warrant inclusion in a safety-first approach.
8.25 - Course-and-distance winner Corky Dancer makes most appeal of those with form, but Diamond Mm is so interesting on paper for Team Swinbank that he merits a line, too.
