The Willie Mullins-trained Golden Silver can defy top weight at Fairyhouse today
"Golden Silver has plenty on his plate under 11-10 but he still appeals as one of the likelier winners of what looks a sub-standard renewal of the Dan Moore memorial"
Timeform's Billy Nash gives you three recommendations for racing in Ireland on Tuesday...
Fairyhouse 2:00 - Win Back - Major Glendinning
Major Glendinning shaped well at Navan last time and is capable of going close here if his jumping holds up. He did very well to finish as close as he did at Navan after a bad mistake 4 out seemed to have knocked him out of contention and has the measure of Summer Seeds on that form. The step up to this trip will suit Major Glendinning and he looks on a reasonable mark.
Fairyhouse 3:35 - Win Back - Golden Silver
Golden Silver has plenty on his plate under 11-10 but he still appeals as one of the likelier winners of what looks a sub-standard renewal of the Dan Moore memorial. He clearly takes his racing very well and has established himself as among the best 2m chasers in Ireland this year with victories in a Grade 2 at Cork and a Grade 1 at Leopardstown. His jumping wasn't as fluent as it could have been in the Champion Chase at Cheltenham last time but he will get more time to measure his fences here and his mere presence means that only seven of his rivals are in the handicap proper. Most of those in opposition are out of form and Golden Silver will revel in the conditions.
Fairyhouse 4:10 - Place Lay - New Phase
New Phase has been progressing well over hurdles, winning 2 of his 4 starts, but he may struggle to even get placed on his handicap debut. He was bitterly disappointing in a handicap on the Flat at Leopardstown just over a week ago and there is a major doubt over his ability to handle heavy ground. The booking of the bang in-form Davy Russell is a positive but others make more appeal in this so a place lay of Dermot Weld's gelding is advised.
