Orsippus: Could find Carlito Brigante a tricky opponent at Punchestown

"Orsippus and Barizan renew rivalry in the Airshow 100 Champion 4-Y-O Hurdle at 4.25 but both have had hard seasons already and preference is for Gordon Elliott’s CARLITO BRIGANTE "

Timeform's Billy Nash casts his eye over Saturday's card at Punchestown and has found two horses he wants to keep on side, and one he wants to be against.

The Irish Field Chase opens proceedings on the final day of the Puchestown Festival. Dusty Doolan would have to have a chance on the best of his hunter chase form but it is hard to look past the Enda Bolger-trained pair, Drombeag and Freneys Well. The latter gained his only success under Rules in this race last year and may be able to follow up with cheekpieces back on for the first time since.

The ITBA Fillies Scheme EBF Mares Hurdle at 3.10 doesn't look a particularly strong Grade 3 but it is still a very competitive contest. Aura About You would take some beating if back to the sort of form which saw her finish third to Quevega at Cheltenham last year but she only finished seventh in the same race this time around has a bit to prove at present. Blazing Tempo won a bumper at this meeting last year and has progressed nicely over hurdles since, winning a mares' handicap at Leopardstown before splitting Morning Supreme and For Bill in a listed novice at Limerick. The return to this trip will suit her but the most interesting runner in the race is TARLA. She has won three times over hurdles in France and has joined Willie Mullins since finishing second in a Grade 3 at Auteuil in November.

Tarla carries the same colours as Themoonandsixpence who is likely to be close to the head of the market in the Eventus Marquees Novice Chase. However, he hasn't been seen since winning at Wexford in August and looks vulnerable at this trip. Bobs Pride, Cuan Na Grai and Woodbine Willie were all useful over hurdles and the British pair, You're The Top and Agglestone Rock, also have plenty in their favour.

Orsippus and Barizan renew rivalry in the Airshow 100 Champion 4-Y-O Hurdle at 4.25 but both have had hard seasons already and preference is for Gordon Elliott's CARLITO BRIGANTE. He was set a bit to do when finishing fourth to Soldatino in the Triumph and this track will play to his strengths.

Lochan Lacha has an obvious chance in the Pat Taaffe Handicap Chase at 5.00, but one that looks capable of running well at a bigger price is COOLCASHIN. The fact that he has been pulled up on two of his last three starts tempers enthusiasm for him somewhat but both of those races were on heavy ground and his very best form is on a sound surface. He isn't badly handicapped on the pick of his form and is unexposed at this sort of trip.

The other two races on the card, a wickedly competitive 2½m handicap hurdle and a newcomers' bumper, don't make a great deal of appeal from a betting point of view.

3.10 - Win Back - Tarla

3.45 - Place Lay - Themoonandsixpence

5.00 - Place Back - Coolcashin
