"Alfred Nobel was just about the best of these last year but it is easy to pick holes in his form and he looks to have plenty on under his Group 1 penalty"

Timeform's Billy Nash gives you four recommendations for racing in Ireland on Sunday...

Curragh 2:45 - Win Lay - Alfred Nobel

Aidan O'Brien has had a very low-key start to the season and his Alfred Nobel is worth opposing in the Loughbrown Stakes. Alfred Nobel was just about the best of these last year but it is easy to pick holes in his form and he looks to have plenty on under his Group 1 penalty. He seems well down the pecking order at Ballydoyle and isn't open to as much improvement as Keredari, Stunning View and Song of My Heart.

Limerick 3:25 - Place Lay - Kusadasi

Kusadasi was a revelation fitted with blinkers at Cork last time, galloping his rivals into the ground in a novice handicap to win by a very wide margin, but he was gifted a very soft lead and there is a chance that blinkers won't work as well second time around. He is unlikely to get his own way in front on this occasion and, as this is going to be his tenth run over hurdles, there probably isn't much more improvement to come from him. He is only fifth-best on Timeform ratings, behind Judge Roy Bean, Hellyhunter, The Book Thief and Stonemaster, but with Ruby Walsh again in the saddle he is likely to be a shortish price. A place lay is advised.

Curragh 3:45 - Win Back - Libano

Libano, last year's Italian 2000 Guineas winner, rounded off his 2009 campaign by beating Rayeni in a listed race at Leopardstown and he looks capable of upholding that form. Libano definitely had the run of the race that day but showed an impressive turn of foot to settle the issue early in the straight, and he is well drawn here. Vocalised also has to be respected but he needs to improve a bit to beat Libano off level terms.

Limerick 5:25 - Win and Place Back - Imperial Storm

Imperial Storm is a bit of a speculative selection in what looks a competitive handicap but he is potentially well treated on the pick of his form and hasn't got many miles on the clock. He shaped a good bit better than the result when ninth to Mister Farmer on his recent reappearance, still going okay just behind the leaders before 3 out and not knocked about after a mistake at the next. That was also his first run for Gordon Elliott and the drier ground/shorter trip should suit. He is worth an interest in both the win and place markets.
