"Copper Canyon has been backed from [5.7] in to [3.0]."

Today's Follow The Money movers come from Lingfield and Ludlow...

We start with Lingfield and, in the 15:00 Selling Stakes, Jake The Snake has been on the drift. He's been matched as low as [1.67] but now trades at [4.0] on the back of a poor reappearance five days ago where he was claimed by new owner Willie McKay who also owns well-backed favourite Catalyze. Jake The Snake looks to be feeling the effects of age, being 11-years-old, and although it's not long since he won off 84, that was over further, on a favourite track at Kempton. The fact he likes to come with a late flurry also makes six furlongs at Lingfield seem wholly inadequate and he looks poor value.

In the 15:20 Handicap Chase at Ludlow there's been a good move for Ajzal, backed from [4.0] in to [3.35] for Ed De Giles. He's a game front runner which, in this four runner race, should allow him to get an easy time in front and save enough for the finish. Rivals include Esteem who travels well but doesn't find a lot off the bridle and Park Lane who shapes like he wants further and has also had plenty of runs this term. He does race from a career high mark but the handicapper won't be punishing any of these too much for winning this moderate affair and run style will surely play more of a part than weights.

We go back to Lingfield for our final mover where, in the 16:00, there's been money for Copper Canyon. A big market drifter last time, he's been backed from [5.7] in to [3.0] today after a pleasing first try over 1m4f. It appeared jockey error was to blame for his last run as he got badly caught out when the tempo lifted in a small field race. But he did shape as though the trip was within his compass, claiming a competitive third place. He's the youngest horse in the field, the least experienced and, if everything falls into place, he should take a lot of beating.
