Today's Follow The Money movers come from York and Worcester...

We start over the jumps at Worcester where, in the opener at 13:50, David Pipe's Frosted Grape has cemented her place at the front of the market and shortened from [2.64] in to [2.16]. Having previously shown a decent level of form over hurdles (although just the one win from 16 attempts) the filly trounced the opposition on her chasing debut in a handicap at Hereford on Tuesday by some 19 lengths. With just a 7lb penalty for that victory there's no doubt that Frosted Grape is currently well in.

We move to York now and in the Nursery at 14:00, Smart Step has been all the rage this morning having been backed from an early [15.5] in to [7.0]. The form figures of Mark Johnston's charge (806) and the fact that she went off at 100/1 last time are hardly inspiring but Smart Step's last run, when she tried to make all over course and distance, offered a lot of encouragement. The fact that connections have now gone the handicap route coupled with today's money suggests that they feel she has a lot more to offer and as such she might well find herself in the shake up today.

The day's negative comes in the shape of Pinerock who has drifted from [2.72 ]out to [3.35] in the 14:25. Quite how or why a horse with a record of no wins from 11 starts should ever open in trading so short is probably explained by the fact that not only does the race itself lack any strength in depth but, also, the gelding is trained by Jonjo O'Neill and more to the point ridden by Tony McCoy. Against that, however, is Pinerock's overall record and moreover his jumping which, at times, has been found wanting as evidenced by the Champion Jockey's ejection from the plate at the first hurdle on his last outing.
