Goodwood again provides the highlights for UK racing today

Our first mover of the day comes in the 14:10 at Goodwood, the 1m2f handicap, where the Henry Cecil-trained Rigidity has been supported from [12.1] in to a current price of [8.0].

This lightly-raced son of Indian Ridge has never been out of the first two in his four runs to date, and comes into today's contest having put up a career best performance when narrowly going down in a handicap at York in May. The form of that race has been franked with the winner going on to run well in a big handicap at Newmarket and the third performing well yesterday. Previously to that he ran the St Leger hopeful Dandino to a length-and-a-quarter, and punters clearly think there is more improvement to come and he can defy his current mark of 89.

Over at Nottingham, in the 14.35, the five furlong handicap, Chris Wall's speedy mare Luminous Gold has been on the drift, now trading at [3.2] having been backed at [2.6]. She races off a career high mark today after a stylish win at Folkestone last time out. She gives weight to several battle-hardened sprint rivals today, and with the stable 0-8 at the track this season punters are keen to take her on.

Our final mover of the day is back at Glorious Goodwood, the Group three over 1m6f at 16:00, in which Flying Cloud has been backed down to [3.2] from [4.4]. Godolphin's four-year old was an impressive winner of last year's Ribblesdale Stakes, and comes into today's race having been far from disgraced when second behind Chinese White in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh. Flying Cloud has yet to race beyond 1m 4f, however she is the clear class act on ratings in the race, and punters are confident the extra distance will not be an inconvenience today.
