"A positive for Isobar is the booking of Kieren Fallon who does particularly well on Luca Cumani's horses, boasting a 33 per cent strike rate."
Monday's FTM movers come from the meetings at Bath, Ffos Las and Kempton
We start our afternoon bets at Kempton where, in the 15:40 (1m 3f Handicap Class 4), Isobar has been heavily supported in to [2.46] from [5.60].
Isobar made his debut fairly late as a 4yo finishing well down the field and didn't appear to progress much following runs at Leicester and Pontefract. However, he started to improve with a second at Folkestone, when upped in trip to 1m4f, and winning at Bath last time out over 1m 5f.
His sire is Monsun and German pedigrees often excel at middle distances. Another positive is the booking of Kieren Fallon who does particularly well on Luca Cumani's horses, boasting a 33 per cent strike rate. Isobar will need to maintain that level as he carries an extra 8lb and drops down in trip to 1m3f today.
Next we go to Ffos Las where Rock The Stars has drifted out to [2.94] from [1.94] in the 15:50 1m2f Handicap.
Rock The Stars has respectable recent form, winning at Yarmouth and Salisbury but finishing second when [1.8] favourite last time out at Leicester. This was over 1m, today he is being upped in trip to 1m 2f. Sire Rock Of Gibraltar was a notable performer being a multiple group 1 winner over 1m, his offspring seem to go on most grounds but win less often on soft. There is a question mark over whether Rock The Stars will stay over 1m 2f though the forecast good to firm ground may help. The trainer John Hills is not in good form going 25 days and 26 runs without a winner.
Finally at Bath in the 16:00 Maiden Fillies' Stakes over 1m2f Mascarene has been supported in to [2.68] from [4.20].
Mascarene has plenty of experience, finishing second last time out as a beaten favourite over 1m 2f at Epsom. She has benefit of being ridden by Ryan Moore today and he has a 33% strike rate in recent times when riding for Sir Michael Stoute. This looks a reasonably competitive maiden for a class 5 with Fascination, Dolphina and Scorn all having respectable recent form.
