Daily Racing Tips: Much more to come from Mirrored

Carl Harris turns to his notebook to find today's best bets.

The York Dante Meeting gets underway tomorrow - three days of top class action from my favourite course. There will be plenty of betting opportunities for us to attack and more pointers for The Oaks and The Derby - it's mouth watering stuff.

Unfortunately, today is a different story, much like yesterday. Laa Rayb was a total disappointment, proving that he does not have the temperament to accompany his talent. With quality in short supply today, I am turning to my notebook once again in search of winners. There are two runners today that caught my eye last time out.

My best bet of the day is Mirrored (3.50) at Warwick. Trained by Sir Michael Stoute this 3-year-old made his handicap debut at Kempton and has been raised 6lb by the handicapper for winning, but I think that he is still very well in at today's weights. There is much more to come from Mirrored who took a keen hold in the early stages at Kempton and could actually be much better than an 81 rated handicapper. The second from the Kempton race has since won a handicap at Goodwood and with Ryan Moore in great form all looks well today.

Other decent bets are scarce but I also like the chances of Lemon N Sugar (7.20) at Lingfield. Trained by the in-form Jeremy Noseda she trotted up last time out in an all-weather handicap at Southwell. The key question is whether Lemon N Sugar will transfer her ability to turf, if so she will be a very well handicapped runner today. The trainer will have tried her on the turf gallops at Newmarket and, having plenty of all-weather races to choose from, it seems the trainer has no concerns in that department.

A couple of winners today will set us up nicely for tomorrow and The Musidora Stakes.
