Carl Harris is off to the West Country to see if a five-year-old can land a treble. Meanwhile, bcan his bet of the day can maintain an unbeaten record over fences?
Main Aim was a good winner yesterday and all I can say is thank God! I was absolutely certain he was a good thing and invested accordingly.
It really is not easy today with just the one flat meeting, at Bath and a couple of jumps cards at Stratford and Perth, all to be run on firm going. I will be taking it easy, at home in the sun but will back two horses who won last time out and can follow up today.
On the flat at Bath, Kyllachy Storm (5.10) is in fact looking for a course and distance treble and can defy a five pounds rise in the weights. The excellent Louis-Philippe Beuzelin gets a great tune out of the five-year-old and can deliver him late to land the hat-trick.
Over jumps at Stratford, Font (4.30) is my best bet of the day. All his good runs have come on a sound surface and last time at Haydock won impressively on his chasing debut. Christian Williams deputises for Ruby Walsh aboard a young chaser that Paul Nicholls will be campaigning at a higher level over the winter. The switch to the larger obstacles looks to be his forte and a clear round today should be enough to maintain his unbeaten record over fences.
