"There is no doubt that Fleeting Spirit is a true Group One performer, having won the July cup last time and finishing second in the Kings Stand at the Royal Meeting.I think that Jeremy Noseda's filly is a strong bet for the day's feature race, in the UK at least, and is my best of the day."

There's so much quality on show today that Carl can barely contain himself!

We have a spectacular day of racing with cards of the highest quality at Haydock, Kempton and Leopardstown. The big question of the day is will the ground dry up to permit Sea The Stars to face Mastercraftsman and Fame and Glory in the Irish Champion Stakes. If it does then this will be the best race we have seen in 10 years, with the domestic action being worthy supporting cards.

Monsieur Chavelier (2.10) has had an excellent season with six wins from eight starts. He was third in better company last time and is down in grade for a showdown with five time winner Star Rover. It would be my contention that Monsieur Chevalier will be too good for them today with Pat Dobbs taking over from Richard Hughes, who has partnered him on all previous starts. He also makes his debut on the polytrack, but rather than taking these as negatives I think the surface will suit and a change of jockey will be no problem. I like Monsieur Chevalier and would love to see him win again.

Kirklees (2.40) fairly bolted up at York, landing a serious gamble. Having been off the track for some time he is back to his best and can win again, down to Group Three, having won at a higher grade last time. Frankie Dettori has been despatched to Kempton to take the ride which should be worthwhile. He is on the best horse in the race and can bring him home for the hat-trick.

Fleeting Spirit (3.30) is a top class Group One performer and is the one to beat in the Betfred Sprint Cup. High Standing puts his unbeaten record over six furlongs on the line under Keiren Fallon but on official ratings Fleeting Spirit is eight pounds superior. There is no doubt that Jeremy Noseda's filly is a true Group One performer, having won the July cup last time and finishing second in the Kings Stand at the Royal Meeting. I think that Fleeting Spirit is a strong bet for the day's feature race, in the UK at least, and is my best of the day.

Sea The Stars (3.50) is one of, if not the best horse of the last 20 years. At the present time he is declared for the Irish Champion Stakes where he will face Fame and Glory and Mastercraftsman. Neither of these horses are good enough to beat Sea The Stars but participation of John Oxx's colt depends on the ground. The rain has come but hopes are high that the ground will dry sufficiently. John Oxx will only run if he is happy with the going and if he is then get on Sea The Stars to break Aidan O'Brien's heart once again. He is throwing his big guns at him again but both have been beaten by Sea The Stars, readily this season. At York Mastercraftsman was dead on his feet afterwards, but Sea the Stars just strutted around taking the adulation of crowd. If Sea the Stars runs he will win, in my view. If not then I will just watch.

With so much great racing on offer you may want to consider a Betfair Multiple with all four bets, combining doubles, trebles and the accumulator. We could be in the money by tonight!
Good luck.
