I couldn't be happier with the weekend, a full house on Saturday with Kauto Star and Zaynar being very good winners, the former landing a £100 charity bet courtesy of Betfair. Sunday saw Vic Venturi drift to an amazing price, winning easily and returning at [8.0].

Very pleasing and very profitable. Winning certainly makes you feel good. The jumps season is in full flow on Monday with meetings at Kempton, Ludlow and Ffos Las today. When you are going well you can get a bit carried away, but I will be keeping my feet on the ground today, but I think there are a couple of decent bets to be had.

12:20 Kempton, Candy Creek - Win. A very good bumper performer Candy Creek makes her debut over hurdles and for the Nicky Henderson yard with Tony McCoy in the saddle. She was last seen winning the listed mares bumper at Aintree, when with the Kiely yard in Ireland. She will not be the best price but could be very good and if so should win this easily today.

15:10 Kempton, Fit To Drive - Win. Having spent a week in hospital recently, with undergoing tests on my heart (all clear thankfully) I learned a lot about this most vital of organs. Trainer Brendan Powell has recently had a stent fitted to widen one of his coronary arteries, Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce is having the same thing done this week. Powell is back on his feet and in fine fettle, Psychomodo's Ascot win was a big tonic for him last Friday and Fit To Drive in my view will be another by landing the hat-trick in what looks a very winnable race.

13:40 Ludlow, Bureaucrat - Win. Won a weak looking claimer claimer (when we backed it) and I said then that he should be too good for the field. I think in another claimer, off this mark we should see the same result. There is better opposition here so we should get a better price from the layers, indeed on official ratings Shore Thing is the one who is well in, but for me I will side with the hat-rick seeking Bureaucrat.

I see our old friend Calzaghe is back in action at Kempton. If things go well I will have a nibble but the 14 pounds penalty is a worry and may be too much for him, but worth a bet if things go our way in the earlier races.
