Carl Harris is turning his attention to the jumps action today with a pair of bets at the northern track

Tuesday and we have three meetings on the cards, two Flat and one over the jumps. There is a pretty decent Listed race at Goodwood for two-year-olds but I am sticking to the jumps, which is the shape of things to come over the next few months.

Gordon Elliott is a top trainer and sends McMurdo Sound (1.50) for another one of his raids on northern UK courses. Tony McCoy has been booked, which is an overt statement of intent in what looks a weak looking maiden hurdle. McMurdo Sound ran on the Flat last time but a reproduction of his run when third at Newton Abbot in a handicap will easily be enough to win this.

Sarah's Gift (4.45) has flourished since moving stables and can make it three from three for the Lornie Hill stable by defying a penalty. The gelding won over course and distance before following up at Newton Abbot last week and has exceptional claims here at a course he obviously likes. He looks to be very well handicapped, despite the extra weight, and with Aidan Coleman aboard the winning team is maintained. I rate Sarah's Gift as the standout bet of the day.
