It's day three of the Ebor Meeting and Carl has spied three fillies he can't resist having a bet on.

It's Ladies Day at York, which is one of the best day's racing you can have, anywhere. There will be fillies of all shapes and sizes on show ... but let's stick to the racing!

The feature race of the day is the Yorkshire Oaks with the star of the show being dual Oaks heroine, Sariska.

Sariska (3.25) is a top class filly with rock solid form. She won the Musidora Stakes, here at York, then won the Oaks at Epsom and trotted up in heavy ground in the Irish Oaks.
Those wins suggest she goes on any ground and with Midday having won since at Goodwood the Oaks form stands up very well. Dar Re Mi is the danger but I don't think any of the field have the class of Michael Bell's super filly.

Lady of the Desert (2.15) lines up in what is a tough race to rate with many unexposed fillies lining up. Of them all though, Brian Meehan's has the best form on offer with a good win in a Group Three last time out at Ascot. The third from that race, Sand Vixen has won since and I think she is the one to beat here. She has won two of her three starts, having been somewhat thrown in at the deep end at Royal Ascot but ran with credit to finish sixth in the Queen Mary. Jim Bolger's filly is the danger, but I think Lady Of The Dessert will have enough to see her off.

The Galtres Stakes (4.05) is a decent race with several fillies having strong claims. The one I like is Fallen In Love, who is trained by John Dunlop, who had a winner here on Tuesday. There is little to separate the leading players, borne out by their official ratings but Fallen In Love has run consistently well in decent company. Her form figures may lead to questions about her attitude but I am sure Dunlop will refute those and a win here will certainly silence the doubters. Fallen In Love just edges it for me.
