I'm still getting my breath back after watching the Manchester derby on Sunday. What a game, reminiscent of those epic battles between Newcastle and Liverpool which also finished 4-3. It's back to the racing with three meetings at Kempton, Leicester and Hamilton where Scotland's week of racing continues. One man to follow at Hamilton is Mark Johnston who saddles a very interesting runner in the opener.

Sand Skier (2:10) looks rock solid to break his maiden. As many from this stable do he improved from his first to his second outing, going down to a well regarded horse of Sir Michael Stoute's. With not much form on offer Sand Skier should land the opener at an early price I consider good value.

The bet of the day is at Leicester where Circumvent (4:20) looks to have a bit in hand in this novice event. The official handicapper has Paul Cole's gelding nine pounds superior to his nearest opponent and having gone down by a head last time, in a better looking event at Kempton it looks back to winning ways here. A reproduction of the standard shown last time will be enough to secure a trip to the winners enclosure.
