On a so so Sunday, Carl Harris is backing the Maktoum family for more success...
I can't believe Mac Love was in excess of [10.0] in the Betfair win market - I honestly expected [4.0]. He certainly won like a favourite and provided a nice profit for the day. Godolphin are flying at the moment, which bodes well for today.
Not bad cards for a Sunday, although I do think that Sunday cards should be of better quality. Ffos Las should attract a decent crowd for their flat card today. I still would like to see more about any draw and track bias before getting stuck in at the Welsh venue. Bath will have firm ground and Goodwood always produce tip top going. I have a bet at Bath and Goodwood for you on Sunday.
Equinine (3.45) won really well at Redcar. Although the margin of victory was only a length the front two drew well clear of the field. I think the handicapper has been very fair by only putting the three year-old filly up four pounds. Barry Hills rides for his father Barry whose horses run well at this time of year. Equinine is my best bet of the day.
Bab Al Salam (5.20) looks a very decent sort who defends a 100 percent record at Goodwood on Sunday. Three career starts have seen him improve everytime and despite a mark of 86 I think there is more to come and the Godolphin bandwagon will keep rolling.
The best card is in France at Longchamp. The big race is a the Group, Prix Vermeille for fillies. Dar Re Mi (2.40) is the main English hope here for John Gosden. She was a good winner of the Yorkshire Oaks, beating Sariska and I think she is a good filly. Is there one better here? I am not sure there is and will be backing the Gosden filly to win.
