Stoute pair head Timeform ratings in Betfair-sponsored King George after strong run from Harbinger on the final day of Royal Ascot

Sir Michael Stoute provided the first three home in last year's Betfair-sponsored King George, and Timeform believe he may have already sewn up the first two places at Ascot next month.

Timeform rated Workforce on 132 after his stunning seven length victory in The Derby at Epsom, making it their best performance in the race since Generous in 1991, and he currently trades as the even money favourite with the sponsors after being confirmed for the top middle distance race on July 24th.

But his stablemate Harbinger produced a breathtaking run of his own when beating Duncan by 3 ½ lengths in the Hardwicke on Saturday, a display which Timeform rate only 1lb behind Workforce's Epsom masterclass.

Harbinger is a [5.6] chance for the race, and the Stoute pair are 3lb clear of the other King George entries at this stage, which brings in Sariska.

Timeform's Flat Editor Jamie Lynch confirmed: "Harbinger has proved unstoppable so far this season, now ready and able for the next challenge of a Group 1. His Timeform rating of 131+ from the Hardwicke would be good enough for him to win an average King George, but this is shaping up to be no ordinary renewal, with his year-younger stable-companion Workforce rated as an exceptional Derby winner at 132p.

"Even after weight-for-age is factored in, Workforce comes out only 1lb ahead of Harbinger on Timeform's adjusted ratings, and both look to have an even bigger performance in them.

"If the pair are given the go-ahead, it promises to be a clash to savour and one of the highest-quality renewals of the King George for many years."
