The North Yorkshire-based handler, best-known for his exploits with the globe-trotting middle-distance Flat campaigner, Collier Hill, is hoping Sir Boreas Hawk will triumph in a Grade 2 Hurdle at Kelso on Saturday and earn himself a trip to the Festival.

He said: "He's a nice horse and I hope he can go all the way. When Thomas Greenall got off him at Catterick he said he was the best novice hurdler he'd ever ridden.

"Sir Boreas Hawk will go to Kelso as long as the ground is not too heavy, and I haven't ruled out of Cheltenham. In fact the 2m there will suit him better than the 2m2f at Kelso, he's got bags of toe," added Swinbank, who is currently in Dubai supervising his Nad Al Sheba team.

Sir Boreas Hawk has been as high as 180 in the Betfair win market, but now stands at 46 for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle, for which Nicky Henderson's Amaretto Rose is favourite at 5.2.
