Sunday September 27

Ascot

2:40 Grosvenor Casinos Cumberland Lodge Stakes
A Group Three run over a mile-and-a-half that usually features some decent staying types. Amongst the entries are Godolphin's consistent Group-level performer Campanologist and Epsom Derby third Masterofthehorse.

3:15 John Guest Diadem Stakes
A high quality Group Two contest over six furlongs that tends to attract a mix of top handicappers and Pattern-class sprinters. Some familiar faces have been entered up for this one, including the likes of Art Connoisseur, JJ The Jet Plane and Strike the Deal.

Curragh

2:45 C L Weld Park Stakes
On the face of it, there don't appear to be any superstars on show for this Group Three seven-furlong event but these two-year-old races at the big meetings are always worth watching with next season in mind.

3:20 Goffs Million Sprint
One of the richest races in the world, this six-furlong contest has attracted a massive field of two-year-olds, headed by Aidan O'Brien's Air Chief Marshall.

3:55 Juddmonte Beresford Stakes
Another Group-level event for two-year-olds, this one run over a mile for those with plenty of stamina in their pedigrees. Amongst the lightly raced types are some highly promising horses including Godolphin's Passion For Gold and Kevin Prendergast's Montecchio.

4:30 Goffs Million Mile
Another huge prize on offer and another mob of two-year-olds, this time tussling over a mile. John Gosden's Azmeel is just one of a number of unexposed youngsters that could improve for a step up in trip.

5:35 Irish Cesarewitch
Always a popular betting event, this two mile Premier Handicap is a searching test of stamina for a typically closely-matched field of handicappers.

Monday September 28

Roscommon

5:15 Kilbegnet EBF Novice Chase
The National Hunt season is starting to rumble into gear and over at Roscommon, you can catch this Grade Three Novice Chase over two miles that is sure to feature some interesting chasing prospects.

Thursday October 1

Newmarket

3:10 Directa Signs Noel Murless Stakes
The opening day of the Cambridgeshire meeting features this Listed event for three-year-olds, run over a mile and six furlongs. Pick of the entries is probably Henry Cecil's colt Manifest, wide margin winner of a maiden here last time out.

3:45 Somerville Tattersall Stakes
A Group Three confined to two-year-old colts and geldings, this is a race with a rich tradition and many who feature here will go on to better things next year.

4:20 Rous Stakes
A typically competitive Listed sprint event featuring a packed field of speedsters charging up the straight five furlongs.

Friday October 2

Dundalk

8:30 Diamond Stakes
A Group race that should attract a decent field to the Polytrack given that the winner here is guaranteed a starting berth in the Breeders Cup Marathon in November.

Newmarket

1:25 Sakhee Oh So Sharp Stakes
An interesting Group Three race for two-year-old fillies that was promoted from Listed status a couple of years back and usually attracts some decent types.

1:55 Nayef Joel Stakes
A high class Group contest for milers that should be a competitive affair.

2:30 Electrolux Cheveley Park Stakes
This Group One race for two-year-old fillies suffers slightly for its proximity to the Fillies Mile and the Prix Marcel Boussac but is still an excellent race likely to include a number of horses that have already scored at Pattern level.

3:05 Shadwell Middle Park Stakes
The colts equivalent of the Cheveley Park Stakes, this prestigious two-year-old event tends to go to speedier youngsters rather than Guineas or Derby contenders

Saturday October 3

Newmarket

1:50 Tattersalls Timeform Fillies'
The second running of this sales race for two-year-old fillies should attract plenty of competitors although they will vary in class.

2:25 Tattersalls Timeform Million
Another valuable two-year-old contest and punters will have their work cut out finding the winner of this highly competitive event.

3:05 Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes
The race of the day is this prestigious Group One event confined to fillies and mares of all ages and run over the galloping mile.

3:40 Cambridgeshire
First leg of the traditional 'Autumn Double', this Heritage Handicap over nine furlongs is a glorious betting and racing spectacle, with its familiar blend of grizzled handicappers and unexposed sorts trained with this in mind.
