Veteran jockey Mick Fitzgerald has picked up the ride on the French-trained L'Ami in the Cheltenham Gold Cup next week, in perhaps his last season before retirement.
The only horse to have given big-race favourite Kauto Star a race this season, L'Ami has been rejected by champion Tony McCoy in favour of Exotic Dancer.
Fitzgerald announced last year that this would be his final season but after a good spell of results, he is now having second thoughts.
The 36-year-old rode L'Ami to finish fourth behind War Of Attrition in last year's Gold Cup. Kauto Star and Ruby Walsh then had to pull out all the stops in the Aon Chase at Newbury last month to beat L'Ami by a neck.
Kauto Star heads the Betfair market for the Gold Cup on 2.9, with McCoy's mount Exotic Dancer next best at 6.6.
Robert Alner-trained The Listener is currently trading at 10.5, while L'Ami can be backed at 19.
