Durham-based handler Michael Dods endured a lean period in the middle part of the summer, but looks set to finish the season with a flourish on recent evidence. Sweet Lightning and Osteopathic Remedy both landed competitive handicaps for Dods in recent weeks, and with a number of other winners and places for the yard lately, his horses seem to be back in good shape. Legal Legacy is one of those who has bounced right back to form, and he looked a very well handicapped horse when winning a Thirsk handicap last time. He had nowhere to go while travelling comfortably for much of the straight, and picked up strongly when switched 1f out to win going away. Runner-up off a mark of 80 last summer (now 75), he's one to have on side for the remainder of the season. Deep Applause has shaped with promise on both his starts in maidens, and looks sure to be in the winners' enclosure before long. He settled better than on debut when fourth at Newcastle last time, but was caught out as the pace lifted, his greenness still evident. He is sure to improve as he gains experience, and is another form the Dods yard to keep an eye on.

Catchanova looks one to follow after a comfortable win in an apprentice handicap at Salisbury. He was unsuited by the softish ground at Epsom on his previous start, but bounced back in no uncertain terms at Salisbury with a career-best effort, positively ridden and pulling a few lengths clear 2f out. He looks sure to win more races for a yard which is in excellent form.
