The Godolphin team look set for plenty more success in the coming weeks
Timeform takes a look at two in-form trainers...
"This superbly-bred daughter of Cape Cross shaped with a great deal of promise when runner-up on debut at Salisbury, and she built on that run at Newmarket"
The Godolphin operation tends to hit full stride in the autumn, and Saeed Bin Suroor's recent results have been typically good for the time of year. The Newmarket trainer has sent out thirteen winners in the last fortnight, including juvenile filly Khawlah, who reaffirmed the impression that she has a big future when winning a maiden at Newmarket a fortnight ago. This superbly-bred daughter of Cape Cross shaped with a great deal of promise when runner-up on debut at Salisbury, and she built on that run at Newmarket, merely kept up to work for most of the final furlong to account for a promising newcomer by a length. There is plenty more to come from Khawlah, and she should be followed closely. All of Suroor's runners are worth consideration during the remainder of the season, as his good run shows no signs of abating.
Chris Wall's older horses have been in good form lately, and a number of his September winners look capable of further success before the season is out. Kindest shaped well when stretched for stamina over 10f on soft ground on her penultimate start at Goodwood, and she duly raised her game back in trip when winning at Newmarket recently. Kindest impressed with the way she quickened at Newmarket, going over two lengths clear entering the final furlong, and just pushed out to hold off the runner-up. She still looks ahead of the handicapper after a 5 lb rise for that win, and should remain very competitive in mile handicaps in the coming weeks. Another Wall-trained female worth following is Oh So Saucy, who won recently at Newbury. Following an indifferent 2009 season, during which she suffered a breathing problem, Oh So Saucy has bounced right back to her best in recent months. She was forced to wait for a run before being unleashed in the final furlong at Newbury, only getting up late to score by a head. Her handicap mark shouldn't suffer much for the victory, and she will hold strong claims if placed in a similar event next time.
