Two recently opened markets are for the 2008 World Hurdle and Champion Chase and both are headed by horses who failed to complete their respective races this year.
Black Jack Ketchum is the early market leader in the World Hurdle market despite crashing out at Cheltenham at the third flight on Thursday in a race won by Inglis Drever, while Well Chief heads the trading in the Queen Mother Champion Chase despite only making it to the second fence in this season's contest run on Wednesday.
Although both markets are relatively immature, Black Jack Ketchum leads the way in the World Hurdle market at 6 ahead of the first three home in Thursday's marathon event. Inglis Drever (6.6) trades ahead of the second, Mighty Man (7.6), and the third-placed horse, Blazing Bailey (7.6).
Well Chief is trading at 5.3 ahead of this season's winner, Voy Por Ustedes, on 7 in the Queen Mother Champion Chase market. Kauto Star has been put in at 7.6 with Monet's Garden the only other runner trading in single figures at 9.6.
There are also ante-post Betfair markets on the 2008 Gold Cup and the Champion Hurdle.
