Lord Crewe is betting royalty for one punter who backs him at 1000 on the exchange

This all-weather bumper was a lively betting heat beforehand, but one Betfair punter savoured the best at the last in-running.

Lord Crewe, something of an outsider before the race went as big as it's possible to go on Betfair, hitting 1000 in-running (one £4 layer; one £4 backer) before flying up the straight to nick the race on the line, literally in the final stride.

The runner-up Knightsbridgelives was backed from 7.2 to 3.85 pre-race and to the tune of 18k at 1.01 when seemingly home and hosed.
