Typical never-say-die performance from champion jockey brings more big race success.
Tony McCoy once again showed that he is a phenomenon in the saddle by forcing Hennessy home on the line in today's Bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown - after the [7.5] chance traded at [100.0] in running on Betfair.
There were three other horses that also traded at odds-on in the race on Betfair.
Runner-up Briery Fox was backed at [1.02] on the exchange before being denied by the McCoy late thrust, while long-time leaders Lacdoudal ([1.33]) and Church Island ([1.6]) traded at long odds-on before being reeled in.
Betfair spokesman Tony Calvin commented: "Wichita Lineman 'only' traded at [65.0] in running when winning at Cheltenham and some people may be surprised that Hennessy didn't trade higher than [100.0] here.
"Quite simply, under any other jockey those horses would have traded at least twice as big in running."
