Air of inevitability about win after Bolger's horse was backed at three figures on the exchange

Jim Bolger's controversial Derby entrant New Approach landed the three-year-olds' Classic today having been backed at a high of [210.0] on Betfair's ante-post market.

New Approach, who went off at a Betfair SP of [6.0], touched [15.5] in-running as Sir Michael Stoute's Tartan Bearer (matched at a low of [1.25]) looked primed to win.

Bolger was roundly criticised last week after executing a sudden U-turn on his horse's participation in the Epsom race.
