Hear interview with James Brennan, the course's marketing director here. Betting begins on whether racing will take place on Thursday...
Racing has been cancelled at York for a second day after heavy rain continued to pour in the north of England today.
An inspection will be made at noon on Wednesday to decide the plan of attack for the final two days of the Ebor festival.
It is not known yet which races may be cancelled given the difficulties track teams will have with the sodden ground.
"It's dreadfully difficult for everyone involved in making that call and hugely disappointing for connections," said York managing director James Brennan.
"We know for racegoers that everyone has been looking to this meeting for so long.
"It's hugely disappointing that this is what the British summer has dealt us.
"The weather forecast for the end of the week does get better."
You can listen to a full interview with Mr Brennan below.
Betting has begun on whether racing will take place on Thursday and the next 18 hours look likely to be lively with heavy rain set to fall tonight.
