Sea The Stars should go off a shade under [1.5] for Tuesday's Juddmonte International Stakes
"The forecast wet weather failed to arrive on the Knavesmire over the weekend and Sea The Stars’ trainer John Oxx has therefore given his English Guineas, Epsom Derby and Coral Eclipse-winning colt the green light to take on the Aidan O’Brien-trained Mastercraftsman and the sole home-trained representative, Sir Michael Stoute’s Tartan Bearer."
Multiple Classic winner is hot favourite at [1.48] for feature race of the Ebor meeting's first day.
Sea The Stars trades at [1.48] on Betfair ahead of Tuesday's Juddmonte International Stakes on the opening day of York's Ebor meeting.
The forecast wet weather failed to arrive on the Knavesmire over the weekend and Sea The Stars' trainer John Oxx has therefore given his English Guineas, Epsom Derby and Coral Eclipse-winning colt the green light to take on the Aidan O'Brien-trained Mastercraftsman and the sole home-trained representative, Sir Michael Stoute's Tartan Bearer, in the 10 furlong Group 1 contest. O'Brien's Set Sail and Georgebernardshaw make up the quintet, in what is sure to be a tactically-run race.
Betfair's Eoin Ryan commented: "Punters are well used to checking the weather reports before wading in on Sea The Stars and that was again the case here as John Oxx's colt traded at a Betfair market high of [4.0] antepost, when seemingly a doubtful runner owing to the wet weather that was forecast for the York area.
However, when that weather forecast changed the Betfair market was typically quick to react and since the final declarations were revealed there has been some notable support for Sea The Stars. Although he briefly traded at [1.44] on Sunday, the more recent price movements on Betfair suggest that Sea The Stars is now likely to be sent off around [1.48]."
