Whether you're close or far from the action, David's bets are worth following
"A staggering ten of the last 11 winners of Friday's big race have come from box 16 or higher."
It's day four at Glorious Goodwood as our stats expert David Stewart previews two races. It's worth listening to our man - after al, the flashstats had a great result with a successful lay and place lay (around [1.48]) of warm favourite Wild Coco on Wednesday.
Mark Johnston and Roger Charlton coupled have an excellent record in this event with two winners apiece in the last four runnings.
Unusually, Johnston doesn't have a runner this year but Roger Charlton does - Proponent who must go on the shortlist given the stats pointer.
However, the overwhelming stat to this race is the draw. A staggering 10 of the last 11 winners have come from box 16 or higher.
Age-wise only two three-year-olds have won in the last 11 years.
Contenders: Confront, Lovelace, Dunn'o, Proponent, Mont Agel, Man of Action, Pleasant Day
Extra Race
Glorious Goodwood - 15:45, Tanqueray Richmond Stakes (Group 2) (2yo, Class 1, 6f, 10 runners)
Winning trainer Richard Hannon, winning jockey Richard Hughes - it's been that way for the past three seasons with Able Speed, Dick Turpin and Libranno last year. Harbour Watch is this year's Hannon 'chosen one' but it might be including a place on Hannon's second-string Eureka given his skill in this event.
Contenders: Harbour Watch (win), Eureka (place)
