It is currently sunny and windy at Haydock, and that spells good news for [2.1] favourite Kauto Star in Saturday's Betfair Chase.

The dual Gold Cup winner has never run on heavy ground, but soft going clearly suits him well.
Since coming over from France, Timeform believe he has run on soft ground six times, winning on five occasions. The only time he hasn't obliged is when falling at Exeter four years ago, when he was remounted and only failed by a short head to get up.

Betfair spokesman Tony Calvin commented: "There has only been some light drizzle at the course today, and connections of Kauto Star will be hoping that their star performer doesn't need to run on heavy ground for the first time on Saturday."
