While Eurotrek can be traded at around 19.5 for the contest next Saturday, his stable-mate is available at 85.

"Eurotrek won the Becher Chase in the autumn, and then we decided we wouldn't run him again because he's had plenty of problems in his career," he told The Telegraph.

"Leg problems, heart problems, breathing problems. He's all over that now. He's a hugely talented horse, if fragile. But he's coming in fresh, fit and well and the weight - he's got 11st 8lb - doesn't bother me at all."

When asked which horse he would back with his own money, Nicholls replied: "Do you know what I would do? I'd put a big each-way bet on Thisthatandtother in the National."

The Grand National market continues to be dominated by Irish-trained horses with Point Barrow (11.5) leading the way ahead of Dun Doire (12) and Numbersixvalverde (13.5).

Ferdy Murphy's Joe's Edge has come in for most support this week with the former Scottish Grand National winner trading at 16.5 for the marathon contest having been available at 20 this time last week.
