The Cheltenham Festival is one of the highlights of not only the horse racing year but of the sporting calendar full stop. With tens of thousands of horse fans flocking into the Gloucestershire course over the four days of the Spring Festival coupled with the millions of people watching on TV - it has every right to be talked about as a prime sporting occasion.

The 2010 Cheltenham Festival takes place from 16th - 19th March with the Cheltenham Gold Cup taking place on the final day as usual.

As usual Betfair fully expects thousands of punters to be on the exchanges trading bets on the Festival Races. Betting is expected to be extremely busy with hundreds of bets being matched every minute so you can be sure that you'll be able to find the value you want as you monitor the markets.

With Betfair offering a free £25 no loss bet to anyone who signs up for an account then you know that even if you lose your first Cheltenham bet you'll be able to have another bet at no added cost straight away. So you basically get two cracks of the whip when placing your first bet. However we all know that finding the right Cheltenham race odds isn't easy but that's why here at Betfair we have a large team of experts who scour the news wires and watch the markets intently to give you the latest information on the Cheltenham Festival.

Cheltenham racing is not something that all horses might be suited to. The course has a lung-busting finish that really challenges the horses and those who have a lack of stamina will often fall short down the final furlong. So when placing your Cheltenham Festival bets take this into account.
