I won't need the luck of the Irish when laying this Paddy
14:00 Catterick - LAY - Paddy Jack (Forecast 3.25)
Today's race is the 14:00 Catterick, a class 5 maiden for 2-year-olds over five furlongs. Paddy Jack is forecast favourite trained by J R Weymes and ridden by Seb Sanders.
But Paddy Jack is the perfect example of a cretinous racehorse. Still a maiden after six runs, that tag should remain after today's affair.
Catterick is an easy track and he is unlikely to get the test that he needs over this quick five furlongs. He has looked one-paced in a finish so more of a stamina test is likely to suit.
Trainer J R Weymes has had 11 runners in the last two weeks with all 11 finishing unplaced. His last winner came back in August. Seb Sanders has never ridden a winner for the trainer.
Bourbon Balistic and Smarterthanuthink have scope for improvement but it is a competitive maiden and I will be laying Paddy Jack.
Today's lay finished second
